Hi, I am install domjudge on centos 6. I have some problem: 1. I can not find how to edit grup when try find file contain GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT 2. [Domjudge]: Run checker developed in Checker framework problem?

Dear Sir, I have a checker from problem set of Northern Eurasia Programming Contest 2017 ( I uploaded it to my google driver and share it below ). The checker had been compiled and packaged into a jar file. I wrapped it by a run script. Network Access inside Chroot environment

Hi Guillaume, Please don’t forgot to add the devel list in your mails. For your question: I’m not entirely sure. I think you can configure it using the MySQL server configuration. Swap for judgehosts

Hello, I was reading the adminstrators manual and I have a question about the section about setting up a judgehost: https://www.domjudge.org/docs/admin-manual-3.html#ss3.7 It recommends the 'swapaccount=1' kernel parameter, but that made me wonder if you actually want swap on a judgehost. I'm not fully familiar with how Linux processes and swap work in detail, but say a judgehost is judging a random submission while the RAM of the host is almost exhausted. If the memory is swapped to disk to clear space for the memory allocated by the submission, doesn't that potentially heavily impact the run time of the submission? And if that's true, wouldn't you see a TIMELIMIT that is not fully justified, because while you might not exceed CPU time, you will exceed wall time? I hope you can shed some light on this. API Call is Running Slow

In debugging process, we found out that process of API Call in fetching config and testcases is 5 to 7 seconds each. The compiling and executing process has no problem in time manner. How to upgrade domjudge system from 5.1.3 to 5.3.2 without changing current data

Hi all, I'm managing a domjudge system ver 5.1.3, and I hold many contests with lots of problemsets and students works there. Now I installed a new judgehost with domjudge ver 5.3.2, and I coped with this error while connecting judgehost with the legacy domjudge server via APIs, I think that it's an incompatible error. "Configuration variable 'diskspace_error' not found." I would like to solve this problem, but I don't know how to? BTW, I also want to upgrade the domjudge server system, but I don't know the procedure must be followed? Regards

Differences between master and ICPC-live

Hi, I want to get rid of the ICPC-live branch as soon as possible after the finals. I also think that we should do this first before we do any further symfony migration. This is a list of the differences to get the discussion started (I probably missed some things): 1) entry_point handling Options: a) add a global configuration b) always require an entry_point if the language itself requires an entry_point c) detect entry_point on domserver I would go with b). By default we can use compile scripts that auto-detect and configure languages as such. In a setting primary/shadow setting, we can require entry points as we do now. 2) Minor things: - Pause contest countdown / starttime_enabled - tsv/yaml import scripts - results/tsv export scripts There's no reason to disable these. 3) external IDs / external results - have only one database scheme, i.e. include columns for external_ids and _results - why don't we always use the contest shortname as ID in the API? - can we drop the expected result in favor of external results? (note that we didn't do a comparison on testcase level in the past but might want to do it in the future) - external_ids and _results can be used even in primary mode where we could fetch the results from the secondary 4) display test case results in submission lists Options: a) make it configurable (either per contest or globally) b) always display them (for jury of course) I don't think the test case results clutter the submission page too much, so I would just keep them always on for simpler code. 5) removed time intervals The code in calcContestTime looks fairly simple. As i understood you create temporary symbolic link in the root folder of the chroot execution which is located in the folder c<contest>-s<problem>-j<id>. >From where do you create your symbolic link. Non-zero exitcode runtime: s cpu, s wall memory used: bytes ********** runguard stderr follows ********** The exit code is 0 But my both script execute their self correctly and the run script exit with 0 exit code and the compare script exit with the 42 exit code Had I missed something? We also have an option to allow users to self-register with DOMjudge, see the configuration settings in the admin web interface. Live ISO Issue

Hi all - I'm having trouble writing the most recent live ISO file to a USB drive. I've downloaded the latest img from here: https://www.domjudge.org/live/ And used the bzcat command to write data to my usb drive (as root) bzcat domjudge-live_2018-01-09.img.bz2 > /dev/sdb When I boot from the usb stick, I get the menu to pick what I want to boot the computer as (webserver and judgehost, just judgehost, etc), but whenever I pick an option, I drop into intramfs with an errir bout 1 table load failing and 7 loading successfully. [Dj] CPU time vs. Wall time

Hello, I've been using DOMjudge since the old 3.x days, and in the last few years I've been applying a couple of changes in my new installations to overcome some problems that, IMHO, have arisen with the new versions. I want to share them in case they are useful for others, they can be considered to by applied to the mainstream version, or to get feedback if I've been doing something wrong. The first one is regarding CPU vs. wall limit times. When runguard is invoked from testcase_run.sh, the script provides it with the parameters --cputime and --walltime. Years ago the walltime was set with 2*${TIMELIMIT}. But at some point in the past, the format of $(TIMELIMIT) was changed to "<soft>:<hard>" and that expression stop working. The script was updated and now the --walltime is exactly the same as --cputime. I experienced difficulties because of that some time ago, because runguard reported Time Limit due walltime exceeded even when the CPU limit was far to be reached. This occurred when the server was suffering a high load, or the first time a big testcase had to be recover from the database. My solution has been to change that script (testcase_run.sh) so the walltime is scaled up. The official script is: runcheck ./run testdata.in program.out \ $GAINROOT "$RUNGUARD" ${DEBUG:+-v} $CPUSET_OPT \ ${USE_CHROOT:+-r "$PWD/.."} \ --nproc=$PROCLIMIT \ --no-core --streamsize=$FILELIMIT \ --user="$RUNUSER" --group="$RUNGROUP" \ *--walltime=$TIMELIMIT --cputime=$TIMELIMIT \* --memsize=$MEMLIMIT --filesize=$FILELIMIT \ --stderr=program.err --outmeta=program.meta -- \ "$PREFIX/$PROGRAM" 2>runguard.err and my change modifies the --walltime line: ... --walltime=*$((4*${TIMELIMIT%:*}))* --cputime=$TIMELIMIT \ ... Note that I'm using a factor of 4 instead of 2 used long ago by DOMjudge. This change works for versions up to 5.1.x. Since DOMjudge 5.2 timelimits can be float values, and my expression is not working anymore. Now bc is needed in order to be able to use float arithmetic: ... --walltime=*$(echo "scale=2;4*${TIMELIMIT%:*}" | bc)* --cputime=$TIMELIMIT \ ... This last patch is due to my college Joan Rodríguez, and adds a new package dependence (in judgehosts) with the bc program. The second change that I've been applying to DOMjudge is in runguard itself, and it is also related with CPU time, although now I'm unsure about the reasons causing my problems. Sometimes, when evaluating java submissions, instead of Time Limit verdict we got Run Error. We solved this issue increasing the real cputime hard limit in runguard. The official runguard adds one second to the CPU time limit, and for some reasons that seems to be insufficient in some cases so we change it to add 2 seconds. In the runguard.c source code: if ( use_cputime ) { /* The CPU-time resource limit can only be specified in seconds, so round up: we can measure actual CPU time used more accurately. Also set the real hard limit one second higher: at the soft limit the kernel will send SIGXCPU at the hard limit a SIGKILL. New team and public UI

Hi all, I've just committed to master my attempt at renewing the Team and Public UI's. In my opinion the DOMjudge interface looks a bit dated and could use a fresh coat of paint. Let me know what you think. Note that you need to run composer (see https://www.domjudge.org/docs/admin-manual-10.html#ss10.1) when updating from git sources. It's definitely not "done" in the sense that it could likely be made even better, but I think it's an improvement over what we had. Because of all the developments going on I purposefully kept to relatively minimal changes to get it done (i.e.: no rewriting to templating systems yet, nearly all logic unchanged, scoreboard layout untouched). There's room for more cleanup and refactorng, especailly if we want to change the Jury interface aswell. And if we want to move to proper templating via Twig for the entire interface. That is appropriate for after 6.0 I think. Cheers, Thijs

I keep getting compiler error

I was trying to setup a domjudge on Digital Ocean Ubuntu Machine. I followed the guide till end. System is running smoothly except that when I try to submit an answer I keep getting this error. Would you please help, I can't fix it for 2 days. Just installing the package above is not enough. What you need to do is to install the package _inside_ the chroot. The steps you need to take are (roughly, it may vary slightly depending on your environment): - copy icpc-kotlinc_1.1.4-3~icpc_all.deb somewhere into your chroot - enter the chroot: sudo chroot /chroot/domjudge (or whatever path you build it at) - install the package there: dpkg -i /path/to/icpc-kotlinc_1.1.4-3~icpc_all.deb - if dpkg complains about missing dependencies, run 'apt-get -f install' or install them and then try again - exit the chroot and test if it works You might need to bind mount /proc, /dev, and/or /dev/pts inside the chroot to make apt-get work. See the domjudge chroot-start-stop.sh file for examples how to do so. Thanks for the quick reply again, Sir. I was supiscious about kotlin is not installed in chroot enviroment too but i have no idea how to install them at chroot enviroment. Before you reply, I have managed to make kotlin work by compiling using kotlinc to make java executable (jar), and finally running the program using java and -jar parameter on addition other java parameter. Dear Domjudge - Developers, Hello again, I have problem to integrate Kotlin compiler in judgehost. For information, I'm using ubuntu 16.04 and I was installing kotlin from sdkman. But when compiling, it seems that domjudge cannot find kotlinc and kotlin. I have try to move kotlinc and kotlin to /bin/ directory. It seems to solve kotlinc problem, but domjudge still cannot execute kotlin. When I try to go to directory where /testcase001/execdir/program resides, and then execute it myself. It seems work and no problem. Trying to re-chroot seems doesn't fix this too. Looking forward for your replay. Dear Domjudge Developers, I'm Andrew Jauhari from Mikroskil, an education institution in Medan, Indonesia. We are going to hold event that will use latest version of domjudge, and version 6.0.0 is prefered, but currently it is not the stable one. From what I see, the current stable version is 5.3.2 and was just released at 29 Dec 2017. I want to ask if domjudge v 6.0.0 stable will be released soon or not ? Can you give information about this, so I can proceed whether I need to use current stable version or wait for stable version of Domjudge 6.0.0 I'm looking forward for your reply. Thanks before. How to submit via api?

Now it work ok and I want to submit problem via api. /domjudge/api/submissions <http://dj5.cachhoc.net/domjudge/api/submissions> (POST) I read the document api but I can not know how to use it.
